Since the best part of reading the news for me, is seeing how it is narrated by all sides of the party and if narrated at all. I thought of giving you that option too :p

It is quite interesting. Three things came to mind when I read about it
-Ye again, citizens abiding by policies that look like a political game
- A heads up for the U.A.E for seeking equal treatment for its citizens.
- Why Canada? I am sure there are other countries that are granted visa waivers by the U.A.E. of which is probably not reciprocated to Emaraties, is it because Canada is looked at as an easy and amenable state to negotiate with, opposed to let's say the U.S.?
-What happened to the so-called free market economy, if it isn't a security aviation issue, why is Canada protecting Air Canada airlines, it is privatized. I guess it goes to tell us how the government is not so "uninvolved" as is perceived here.

I agree with you Rama.
I really am with what UAE is doing, but I guess you raised an interesting question in the fact that they might be doing this with Canada simply because its easier to deal with.
But then again its Canada that's refusing to grant landing rights and Canada is the one trying to protect its airlines in a not so "free-market economy way" so heads up for the UAE dealing with it.
I just feel sorry for the citizens having to go through the hectic process!
I think this is crap!! Why inflict pain on the people who have nothing to do with this stupid argument!! It's like two boys fighting for toys and seeing who will give up theirs faster!! This is getting way out of control and it will lead to both countries having a major fall!!
Canada can easily then refuse flights altogether and that would mean Dubai's airlines would go to hell because there are so many Canadians living in Dubai!! And Dubai can loose a lot of it's citizens if this keeps going and their economy which is already terrible will become worse!!
This can keep going until it spirals out of control!! I think they should amend this before it really hurts the citizens because were the ones stuck in this mess!!
